England v France will air on ITV1 on Saturday, 10 December
The BBC and ITV have revealed which channels will broadcast the World Cup quarter-final fixtures.
The broadcasters confirmed the group stage plans and who got first pick in the knockout rounds before the competition, with the games chosed for the quarter-final stage now confirmed. ITV had first pick for both the round of 16 and the quarter finals.
The BBC will air the first two matches on Friday (9 December), with Croatia v Brazil at 3pm and Netherlands v Argentina at 7pm - both on BBC1, iPlayer, and BBC Sport.
Meanwhile, ITV will show Saturday’s (10 December) games, with Morocco v Portugal on ITV1 and ITVX at 3pm before the highly anticipated clash between England and France at 7pm through the same channels.
Live coverage of every game will also be available on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.
ITV also aired England’s last-16 victory over Senegal, which drew the highest audience of the competition to date. A peak of over 20 million tuned in, with an average audience of 18.4 million during the 90 minutes.
The BBC, which will get first pick of the semi finals, and has also gained large audiences. 18.7 million watched England’s final group game against Wales last week, and England’s opener against Iran became the most streamed event over 24 hours on BBC iPlayer ever with eight million.
