The company says it’s deeply concerned about predicted spikes in infection rates from the Delta variant of Covid-19 towards the end of this year
Ross has announced it won’t be attending IBC 2021, becoming one of the first high-profile cancellations of the Amsterdam-based tradeshow.
In a statement, Ross said it “believes in the resumption of large international trade shows and events when the time is right”, before adding that its “commitment to both NAB Show and the IBC exhibition is wholehearted”.
Ross doesn’t believe the time is right yet for the return of these trade shows, saying the company remains “deeply concerned about predicted spikes in infection rates from the Delta variant of Covid-19 towards the end of this year.”
It also said it believes customer appetite for a physical event in December is “unclear at best”.
“While regrettable, our decision to withdraw is consistent with our position that health and safety considerations must come first, and we appreciate this view being recognised by the event organisers.”
