Zoe Cosh, Jorg Schulz-Gerchow, Rich Payne and Alfie Vaughan join the creative studio from The Mill
Coffee & TV has made four hires to its 2D department, all arriving from The Mill.
Zoe Cosh, Jorg Schulz-Gerchow, Rich Payne and Alfie Vaughan will support the studio’s VFX output, and join shortly after the promotion of Pete Burch to executive producer.
Cosh arrives after 21 years at The Mill, originally joining on a work placement and working up to VFX supervisor. A Flame and Nuke artist, Cosh has worked on campaigns including, the BBC: ‘God Only Knows’, Ocado: ‘Just For You’, The International Olympic Committee (IOC): ‘Become The Light’, and PlayStation’s Plus Action Trailer. As well as working in the 2D team, Cosh will support the studio’s commitment to attract diverse talent and nurture careers in the industry.
VFX supervisor Schulz-Gerchow has worked at the likes of Warner Bros and Disney Toon Studios in Australia, with credits including Inspector Gadget 2, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lilo & Stitch 2 and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Most recently, he was at The Mill in London and Berlin, working on campaigns such as BMW 7 and i7 films, Wren Kitchens 2022 commercial directed by Michael Gracey and a 3D billboard in New York’s Times Square for Showtime’s The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Payne comes from almost 12 years at The Mill, working with the likes of Audi, VW, Sipsmith, EA sports, Guinness, John Lewis, and Amazon, and will be lead 2D artist at Coffee & TV. He spent just over nine years at Prime Focus before this, and will also be a ‘people lead’ in his new role, responsible for professionally and creatively mentoring a team of artists.
Finally, Vaughan will be VFX lead after five years at The Mill - where he started as an apprentice and became a nuke compositor. He has worked with PlayStation, EA Sports, Riot, Coors and Coke, and is a regular contributor to Access:VFX.
Leonie Moreton, MD at Coffee & TV, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome such an incredible group of artists to our super talented 2D team. Zoe, Jorg, Rich and Alfie are a dream; the perfect additions to help us deliver a broad variety of projects across short form, film and episodic. Each of them possess the skills, expertise and most importantly, the values to add to the Coffee & TV culture. With the move to our gorgeous new studio in Farringdon on the horizon, we’ll have more space available to collaborate, nurture upcoming talent and deliver exceptional creative work the Coffee & TV way.”
