Senior people policy consultant at Ofcom joins Sony-owned producer
Whisper has appointed Estelle Chijarira as its head of people.
She joins from Ofcom, where she implemented a number of people policies and procedures which directly led to Ofcom being twice recognised as one of The Times’ Top 50 Best Places to Work for Women. She has also worked in HR roles in IT, construction, and other industries.
At Whisper, Chijarira will be responsible for implementing changes based on feedback from its recent Broadcast Best Places to Work process, and will report to CEO Sunil Patel. She will sit on the senior management team, and also aim to improve the general working environment and practices.
Patel said: “It’s great to welcome someone of Estelle’s calibre to join our team. Her vision for managing, developing and supporting the growth of the team is inspiring and it’s great to have her onboard for the next stage of our progression.
“Alongside our belief that entertainment is everything, we want to impact positive change – a focus which we want to always apply internally, as well externally through the productions we create.”
Chijarira added: “A lot of amazing things are happening here at Whisper and I’m happy to be part of it. I am looking forward to making a positive impact and driving meaningful transformations, as I partner with all of Whisper’s teams”.
