Sunset+Vine has been awarded the production and distribution contract for the 2021 Hempel World Cup Series, the Olympic Classes Global Tour, by World Sailing.

The production team will deliver daily social and digital content, news material and an event highlights show, as well as international news and highlights distribution to the network of broadcasters, news desks and digital platforms.

The Hempel World Cup series will include all ten Olympic sailing classes racing on an international circuit, with the first event taking place in Medemblik, Netherlands from 2-13 June - with eight of the ten Olympic classes racing. Further events will be announced in due course for a shortened 2021 calendar.

The Medemblik competition will be the last major World Sailing event ahead of the Tokyo Olympics this summer.

Sunset+Vine executive director, Andrew Preece, said: “Working with World Sailing on this Olympic classes World Cup contract is special for Sunset+Vine. In an Olympic year the spotlight is on these events and the form guide for Tokyo and we look forward to delivering the story to the news desks of the world and creating content that will help sports fans around the world connect their heroes ahead of Tokyo.”

Daniel Smith, director of communications and digital at World Sailing, added: “In an Olympic year, it is important our sport is expertly presented and distributed to global broadcasters and news outlets in our key target markets. Sunset+Vine are the global experts in sailing production and distribution and are a perfect match to deliver the 2021 Hempel World Cup Series.”
