The live match data and video editing platform was previously focused exclusively on football
Stats Perform has added American football to its PressBox Live platform, to sit alongside its existing football insights, which also now include enhanced AI-driven expected goals insights (see video below).
PressBox Live enables you to access live match data, edit video highlights and create social media graphics through a single platform.
The American football data-driven stats will appear in PressBox Live from the 2022-23 NFL and college football seasons onwards.
PressBox Live is a sports data dashboard and commentary assistant aimed at making it easier for broadcasters, social media teams and content creators to spruce up their live output with AI and human-captured insights.
The AI-driven content includes predictive metrics such as expected goals and live win probability.
The product is split into three sections – PressBox Live, PressBox Video and PressBox Graphics – which are all available through a single login via a straightforward-to-use dashboard.
PressBox Live offers live text updates and stats related to the live game. The AI generates much of these insights, including the text updates. Pressbox Video enables you to edit video and download video clips, including raw, uncut output from Stats Perform’s news syndication platform. Finally, Pressbox Graphics provides graphics that tell tactical trends, such as heatmaps and AI metrics such as live win probabilities and a recently improved expected goals graphics.
Within PressBox Live there’s a live chat box which links you directly to the Stats Perform team, making it possible for you to request extra data and insights when required.
The PressBox Live platform first launched in May 2021 with a sole focus on football.
Nancy Hensley, chief product and marketing officer at Stats Perform, told Broadcast Sport: “PressBox is a culmination of our vision to utilise AI alongside the great data we have. It’s a companion app for producers, researchers, statisticians, commentators, pundits and talent.
“Previously, what we now offer through PressBox was only available via a complex workflow, so we stepped back and created an app specifically for broadcasters, to make the AI-driven information much more consumable and enable them to quickly and easily bring it into broadcasts.”
