The eSkootr Championship (eSC) has appointed Canadian company Boombox as its production partner. Boombox’s credits include several Olympic Sports and X Games, as well as with esport leagues and Red Bull.

Given Boombox’s heritage, eSC says “Boombox are perfectly placed to help deliver imaginative and innovative content that will engage viewers with a fresh approach across all eSC platforms.”

Boombox has already worked with eSC during a recent test event at Circuit Paul Ricard, during which it produced a pilot production that brought the eSC’s broadcast vision to life for the first time.

The production gave a taster of what an eSC race weekend broadcast will look like, including pre-race build up, live race commentary and post race interviews, highlights and analysis.

Boombox will now work closely with eSC’s global media and content partners to provide a viewing experience focusing on fan engagement and interaction.

Hrag Sarkissian, eSkootr Championship co-founder and CEO, said: “eSC is a first of its kind racing championship, giving us the opportunity to create a new way of producing sport that puts the viewing experience at the centre of everything we do. The team at Boombox have understood this from the start, and we have been impressed by their creativity, vision and passion for our series.

“The demands of broadcast fans have changed, with viewers wanting to feel immersed in the production and we have an ambitious and innovative content approach that will supply that. eSC will provide a new, unique form of racing, and we are delighted to be working with Boombox, who will take fans into the heart of the action like never before.”

TJ Walker, head of production at Boombox, added: “From the tech to the tone of voice, viewers of eSC will immediately see how the series stands apart from other racing championships. We have combined our past experiences in sport and gaming to start an inspiring evolution for live broadcasting as we look to blur the boundaries between real life racing and Esport. By applying ideas and methods from the gaming world, we aim to make eSC the most innovative racing series available, giving the fan a whole new viewing experience.”

The eSkootr Championship’s first races take place next year. Riders will race a specially designed S1-X electric scooter, which has been developed by YCOM, is powered by a Williams Advanced Engineering battery, and can reach speeds of over 100 km/h, on specially designed inner-city circuits.
