Warner Bros. Discovery has revealed its plans for the Australian Open, which will take place 16-29 January and air on discovery+, Eurosport, and the Eurosport App.

Alize Lim, seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander, and six-time Grand Slam semi-finalist Tim Henman will front coverage from the broadcaster’s mixed-reality Cube studio in London, with former world number seven Barbara Schett and ex-British star Laura Robson in Melbourne. John McEnroe will join the coverage from New York, USA - as well as voicing a promo that was released from 2 January.

Meanwhile, Alex Corretja (Spain), Justine Henin (France), Boris Becker (Germany) and Roberta Vinci (Italy) will be key parts of localised coverage, as well as contributing their views and analysis to international audiences at relevant moments.

In addition to 250 hours of live coverage during the tournament itself, Warner Bros. Discovery will also present all courts produced during the qualifying rounds starting from 10 January on discovery+, Eurosport, and the Eurosport App. It will also screen the Adelaide International 2 event across Europe from 9 January, and the Adelaide International 1 ATP 250 tournament from 2 January in Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, and Sweden.

Other content exclusive to Warner Bros. Discovery will see world number three Casper Ruud speak to Eurosport’s experts for Ruud Talk, looking back on a memorable season and previewing the upcoming year ahead, as well as giving his insights into the competition. Meanwhile, Laura Robson will explore the city of her birth in The Melbournian, an eight-episode short-form series to be broadcast during Warner Bros. Discovery’s coverage of the tournament.

Eurosport’s digital and social outlets will also have highlights, reaction and analysis.

Scott Young, SVP content and production at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said: “Last year provided so many talking points for tennis fans across the globe and Eurosport was there every step of the way – helping to set the news agenda with world-class analysis and thought-provoking expert opinion from some of the finest minds in the game. 2023 promises much of the same as the new generation of superstars continue to make their name while icons such as Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal seek to build on their legacy. To have one of the best storytelling tools - the award-winning Cube studio - bringing these elements will elevate our coverage further.

“With a raft of compelling content in addition to making every match available via our suite of platforms, we truly believe Warner Bros. Discovery continues to tell the most inspiring stories with the greatest storytellers to unlock the power of sport.”
