The broadcaster has agreed deals with promoters Top Rank and Boxxer this year
Sky Sports has revealed its boxing schedule for this winter.
The broadcaster has signed deals with promoters Top Rank and Boxxer to bring fights from the US, UK, and Ireland, after losing Matchroom Boxing’s bouts to DAZN this summer. The Top Rank deal brings a minimum of 18 US fight nights-per-year, while Boxxer brings around 14 UK fight nights-per-year plus Pay-Per-View fights and new formats. Both deals last for four years.
The first event of the Boxxer deal sees Chris Eubank, jr. facing Sven Elbir at London’s SSE ARENA, Wembley on 2 October, in a card that also includes David Avanesyan defending his European championship against the UK’s Liam Taylor, unbeaten since 2015, and Cruiserweight contender Richard Riakporhe returning from injury.
On 16 October, Hughie Fury faces Christian Hammer alongside bouts for WBO champion Savannah Marshall and Newcastle fan favourite Lewis Ritson, with 18 December seeing Josh “The Tartan Tornado” Taylor defend his crown against WBO No. 1 contender Jack “El Gato” Catterall from The SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
