Extension revealed live on air at 2022 edition
Sky Sports has revealed that it will continue as the home of the Masters in UK, and has added Ireland.
It has a agreed a “multi-year” deal with Augusta National Golf Club, which covers exclusive rights to the first, second, third and final rounds and play-offs - if applicable. The broadcaster will air both live coverage and full highlights.
The news was announced live on air as Sky Sports began its coverage of the 2022 edition, with many fans keeping an eye on the return of Tiger Woods to a major following a car crash in which he reportedly nearly lost his leg.
This year, Sky Sports has six digital feeds in addition to its linear coverage, including live footage of the famous Amen Corner on YouTube. There are also numerous analysis tools in use, including Sky Scope, Virtual Holes, Touchscreen, Zen Green and Shot Centre for Masters Breakfast.
Sky Sports holds the rights to all four men’s Majors, all five women’s Majors and both men’s and women’s tours - totalling over 100 tournaments in total.
