The deal will see the racing series shown in more than 75 countries and territories
Pure ETCR has reached a deal with Eurosport to show the competition in over 75 countries and territories.
The electric racing series will use the most powerful touring cars ever built, reaching 500kW peak power - the equivalent of 670bhp. It gets underway in May of this year, and will now be able to reach a broad audience.
The partnership with Discovery’s Eurosport channels means that more than 250 million viewers will have access to Pure ETCR, across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It joins other motorsport, such as Formula E, WTCR, and Le Mans, on the channel.
In addition to linear TV, Eurosport will also be available through streaming platform discovery+ in the Nordics, Italy, Spain, Germany, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Hungary and Iceland. Eurosport president Andrew Georgiou has alread pointed to sport as a major part of the platform.
In addition to airing the competition, Eurosport has agreed to help promote Pure ETCR through its sports production expertise, channels and platforms - attempting to grow the popularity of the sport in its inaugural season.
