DAZN and Prime Video have agreed a global distribution deal.

This will see the sports broadcaster become available as a Prime Video Channel, which subscribers can access through an additional monthly fee. Fellow sports streamers LaLigaTV and Viaplay have similar agreements with the Amazon-owned streaming platform.

Spain and Germany are the first markets to launch this feature, with Japan to follow. More markets will be rolled out through the year.

DAZN recently acquired Eleven Sports, meaning that it now has the rights to football competitions Bundesliga, English Premier League, J.League, LaLiga, Serie A, and the UEFA Champion’s League, as well as Formula 1, NBA, MotoGP and the UFC. This includes the domestic rights to Serie A, Bundesliga, and LaLiga.

Jay Marine, global head of sports at Prime Video, said: “This new partnership with DAZN is an exciting step forward for Prime Video’s global sports offering, and gives our customers more choice of the best live and on-demand sports, all in one place.”

DAZN CEO Shay Segev added: “This is great news for sports fans around the world with even more ways to access DAZN’s broad selection of premium sports content. We are excited to create a long-term global partnership with Prime Video as we continue to innovate in digital sports experiences for customers.”
