Ocean Outdoor is to broadcast content from the the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics to its large-format screens across the UK.

26 screens in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Southampton, and Manchester will show action from the competition, which gets underway on Friday, 4 March. This includes 10 second daily updates, medal moments and good luck messages to the GB team which will make an estimated six million ‘impacts’.

In the build-up to the event, Ocean Outdoor will also air Impossible To Ignore, a promotional campaign involving several of the 25 British athletes who will be competing. Campaign imagery, celebratory moments and athlete quotes will feature as the campaign aims to bring people closer to the Winter Games in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bournemouth, and Manchester.

This is part of the company’s partnership with ParalympicsGB, taking the role as official out of home media partner. It has aired many major competitions in the UK, including the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Euro 2020, and the Champions League.

Kevin Henry, Ocean head of content and sponsorship, said: “This new partnership with ParalympicsGB extends Ocean’s commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic movement and follows the success of our long-term partnership with Team GB. It is a natural progression as we look forward to Paris 2024 and beyond.

“Celebrating the extraordinary levels of determination, commitment and skill of Paralympic athletes on large format out of home across the UK once again highlights the power of DOOH as a broadcast medium.”
