In-house streaming platform available on Samsung, LG, and Android TVs
Manchester United has launched an MUTV app for Samsung, LG (from 2020 onwards), and Android TVs.
The platform was already available on Apple TV, Xbox, Amazon Fire and Roku, with LG devices from 2018 onwards to be added in 2023.
Fans with these TVs will be able to access exclusive and premium content on-demand, from live action, to documentaries, to 1,167 archived Manchester United games from the past 30 years of the Premier League.
There is also behind-the-scenes content as well as feature programmes such as MUTV’s United Daily show, manager’s press conferences and player interviews and goal clips.
Live action includes pre-season tour games – such as the upcoming men’s first team friendlies in Spain – Academy, and selected women’s games, together with highlights, full replays, and live audio commentaries of all first team matches.
Phil Lynch, CEO, digital products and experiences, at Manchester United, said: “We are delighted to make our fully integrated content offering more accessible to our global fanbase through the latest roll-out of the MUTV app on compatible connected TVs.
“MUTV began in 1998 as a market-leading club specific channel and throughout the years we have continued to innovate with one common ambition – to serve our fanbase in the most engaging and accessible way.
“We are proud to be taking these steps to better engage our fans, further enrich our content and enhance direct-to-fan distribution.”
