The eight year English and Spanish rights agreement kicks off in August.

Acuerdo ESPN-LaLiga

LaLiga and ESPN have agreed an eight-year English and Spanish rights agreement ahead of next season.

Set to get underway in August, all 380 top division matches will be available to stream live and on-demand on ESPN+, as well as selected second tier clashes - including five post-season promotion playoffs. These games join the Copa del Rey, Copa de la Reina and Supercopa de España on the network, and will be available in both English and Spanish.

In addition, selected matches will be broadcast on ESPN networks each season, with coverage and highlights also available on SportsCenter and other ESPN studio programs, as well as on ESPN digital and social platforms.

Also, ESPN+ will offer a variety of surround programming, including match previews, highlights, magazine shows – and will continue to cover LaLiga extensively on signature ESPN+ shows including ESPN FC, Jorge Ramos y su Banda and Fuera de Juego.

Burke Magnus, executive vice president, programming & original content, ESPN, said of the deal: “As the sport of soccer continues its ascendance in the U.S. market, we are incredibly excited to work with LaLiga to establish a deeper connection to American fans through our company’s industry-leading streaming platforms, television networks, and digital and social media assets.”

LaLiga president Javier Tebas added: “This is an historic eight-season agreement in U.S. soccer broadcasting that speaks to the power of LaLiga and its clubs in the largest media market in the world and will bring the world’s best soccer league to American screens in a more comprehensive and modern way than ever before.”

Rights for Canada are included in the deal, where LaLiga will be broadcast on TSN and RDS as well as live streamed on TSN.ca, RDS.ca, and the TSN and RDS apps.
