The competition will take place 29-30 January
Joymo has been chosen to stream the British Weight Lifting Championships this weekend, 29-30 January.
For the first time, every lift from the flagship annual event will be broadcast live and on demand on the Joymo Arena platform, with more than 250 lifters going head-to-head across Senior, Masters and Para Powerlifting categories. It will also be available on the British Weight Lifting website, with both platforms offering an all-access pass for £18.99 and single day passes from £4.99.
There is an extra edge to the competition this year, with it acting as a key qualifying tournament for the Commonwealth Games later in 2022.
British Weight Lifting uses Sport:80 sports management software, a company which Joymo works alongside to target rights holders for its services.
British Weight Lifting COO Kath Leonard, said: “We are really excited to be providing live lift-by-lift coverage of our flagship championships. Joymo’s streaming solution enables us to make the entire event available for fans to watch wherever and whenever they choose, in a single and easily accessible online destination.
“Live streaming our competitions is an important step in our aim to engage more people with the sports of weight lifting and para-powerlifting by making our elite-level competitions and athletes more accessible.”
Mike Emery, CEO of Joymo, added: “Joymo exists to empower sports organisers and participants - at all levels - by providing them with the tools, resources and technology to broadcast directly to their fans and make sure that they never miss a moment of the sport they love.
“We are excited to help British Weight Lifting unlock and realise the value of their events and to make elite domestic competitions available to fans to watch anytime and anywhere via Joymo.”
Joymo launched in the UK and Ireland 18 months ago, and also boasts partnerships with the likes of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, Welsh Sports Association and Hockey Wales.
