FIFA+ Academies Santos

FIFA+ has launched the second season of Academies, focusing on top Brazilian side Santos’ youth system.

The original club of Brazil legends such as all-time great Pele, Barcelona and now PSG star Neymar, and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, since 1978 the Sao Paulo club’s academy graduates have been known as Meninos da Vila (the Boys from Vila Belmiro), a nickname coined by former Santos FC player and coach Chico Formiga. Academies will go behind the scenes to follow the trials, tribulations, and successes of the current crop of talent coming through at the club.

This follows on from the first season, which featured Belgian side RSC Anderlecht, and was produced by Shoot The Company.

GroupAcademies: Santos was produced with Noah Media Group, and is a three-part series with episodes to go live weekly from today, 14 July.

FIFA+ launched in April as a free service, and is currently available in ten languages across Android, iOS and desktop. FIFA+ commissioning editor and content lead for global originals James Abraham revealed the platform’s aims for new content earlier this summer
