DAZN has announced it will broadcast the Women’s International Champions Cup this week.
Running from 17-20 August, the pre-season tournament features Champions League title holder Lyon, Women’s Super League champion Chelsea, 2021 NWSL Shield and 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup winner Portland Thorns, and 2021 Torneo Grita México Apertura champion C.F. Monterrey. All matches will take place at Providence Park, Oregon – the home of the Portland Thorns.
DAZN, which also airs the Women’s Champions League across the UK and Europe in a similar manner, will show the International Champions Cup free-to-air on its YouTube channel as well as through its subscription platform.
Both matches featuring Lyon will also have French language commentary.
DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev commented: “Securing the global rights to the Women’s International Champions Cup is fantastic for DAZN as we continue to grow audiences and engagement in women’s sport.
“This tournament comes after an unforgettable summer of women’s football in Europe, and it promises to be an exciting precursor to the next UWCL season on DAZN.”
