The inaugural Collins Cup takes place on 28 August
The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has launched the Collins Cup player app for live and on-demand content ahead of the inaugural competition on 28 August in Šamorín, near Bratislava, Slovakia.
Available on web, iOs, and Android for both smartphones and tablets, the app will showcase a live broadcast of the competition outside of Europe as well as on-demand content. In Europe, the Collins Cup is available exclusively on Eurosport 2, the Eurosport Player, and discovery+.
The on-demand content includes Collins Cup Countdown shows hosted by Charlie Webster with guest appearances from Collins Cup team captains, and documentaries Beyond Human and Battle For Glory - which go behind-the-scenes on the world’s greatest triathletes.
The broadcast content will sit alongside an integrated live data feed which will be available on the day of the event through the PTO website. The feed will have real-time positional data, split times, photos and video.
Alongside the app, the Collins Cup can be seen through broadcasters such as Discovery Eurosport, beIN SPORT, FujiTV, Sky Sport New Zealand and Fox Sports Australia - in deals secured by the PTO and IMG. There are also highlights programmes onBT Sport in the UK, Tencent in China, SuperSport in South Africa, Astro in Malaysia, 3BBTV and TrueVision in Thailand and VEION and FPT in Vietnam.
Broadcast deals in Singapore, Canada, USA and South America are set to be announced, and overall it will be distributed in more than 165 territories, with live commentary in 21 different languages, to a combined household reach of over 365 million.
