BBC Sounds and Radio 5 Live podcast will feature interviews with big names from the world of football
BBC Sounds and Radio 5 Live have revealed Unbelievable, a podcast hosted by Chris Kamara and Ben Shepherd.
Unbelievable will feature interviews with big name guests from the world of football, which will look to uncover behind-the-scenes insights and never-before-heard stories. Weekly episodes will begin from 4 August, and will also feature light-hearted football chat and chances to get involved from home alongside the interviews. It is produced by Folding Pocket Productions.
This is the first podcast Kamara has made with the BBC, and futher podcast content featuring the former Sky Sports pundit is expected later in the year. Kamara left Sky Sports after 24 years earlier this year, having suffered with speech apraxia - which he later confirmed he is now recovering from. He and Shepherd worked together at Sky, presenting the Goals On Sunday programme.
Kamara said: “We can’t wait to launch the podcast and start sharing the unbelievable stories from the show. We’ve lined up some real characters to join us - people who have seen and done it all in football. We’ve had a lot of laughs so far and we’ve already unearthed some stories that will thrill fans of all clubs.”
Shephard added: “It’s been great teaming up with Kammy again to chat to some of the biggest legends, and some of the most entertaining characters, in the game. We’ve had a lot of fun recording, but we’ve also gained some genuine insight into life at the top of football. We can’t wait to launch the pod and get the listeners involved in the show.”
