Viewers will be able to follow men’s and women’s teams on PSB’s platforms
Channel 4 will make England’s hockey games available to watch under a three-year deal with the Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) Hockey Pro League.
The PSB has become an official broadcast partner of the FIH and the deal will enable hockey fans to follow England’s men and women’s teams ahead of the 2027 EuroHockey Championships which will be held in England.
From December, C4 will offer coverage of all England men’s and women’s games, as well as other top-tier matches.
Viewers can watch the games across the PSB’s platforms, including on its Sport YouTube channel. The first match to be aired under the deal will be a face-off in the women’s division between Olympic silver medallists England and China, while the men’s campaign kicks off from 11 December with games against Argentina and Ireland.
Pete Andrews, head of sport at C4, said: “We’re delighted to bring the FIH Hockey Pro League to Channel 4 audiences. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase one of the world’s most exciting sports to a wider UK audience.
“Our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality sports coverage means hockey fans and new viewers alike can enjoy the very best of international hockey for free. We look forward to seeing the drama unfold and supporting England’s teams as they compete on the global stage.”
The partnership plays into England Hockey’s mission to make the sport more visible and accessible. The collaboration with C4 is a big step in achieving that goal, according to Nick Pink, chief exec of the sporting organisation.
“This partnership marks a pivotal moment for hockey in England. Channel 4’s reach and innovative approach to sports broadcasting make them the ideal partner to bring the FIH Hockey Pro League to life, allowing fans across the UK to experience the thrill of international hockey for free. We’re excited to work together to inspire the next generation of players and fans,” said Pink.
