It will air on Blast.tv, YouTube, Twitch, and DAZN in the UK
Blast Premier has revealed it will be shown in over 150 territories for its 2023 season, an increase of over 20 from 2022.
2023 will see up to 32 teams facing off across seven global events in the Counter-Strike esports competition.
Blast Premier will be available in 25 languages, with broadcast partners including TV2 (Denmark), RTP (Portugal), Webedia (France), Turk Telecom (Turkey), Charlton (Israel), Pelajaat (Finland), StarTimes (Africa), Maincast (Ukraine), Viettel (Vietnam) and Relog (CIS and Balkans), among others. Overall, it will be shown by over 40 TV networks across North Africa, LATAM, Asia, the Nordics and the CIS region, and more.
In addition, DAZN will air the tournament globally in over 100 territories, following the broadcast deal it agreed last year.
This includes the UK, where Blast Premier will be available on DAZN, YouTube, Twitch, and the organisation’s newly launched D2C offering Blast.tv. Blast Premier chief growth officer Tom Greene recently told Broadcast Sport about the OTT streaming platform, revealing it had been created by a small in-house team in just 18 months and includes features such as a “timeline” to catch up with live matches, and an automated highlights system.
Lewin said: “Blast Premier continues to be highly sought after by broadcasters from all around the world, offering unparalleled production quality and game-changing fan-first moments. We are delighted to reveal a truly global and expansive network of new and existing media rights partners, which will allow fans to watch and enjoy Blast in 150+ territories. We are delighted to see broadcasters return year-after-year to partner with Blast, which is testament to the huge following and global appeal our events have built up over the years.”
2023 will include Blast Premier’s first time hosting a Counter-Strike Major - with it to take place at the Accor Arena in Paris from 8-21 May, also becoming the first time France has hosted a Major.
