Yorkshire Television has bought a Quantel eQ HD editing system as part of the refurbishment of its Edit One suite. Due to open at the end of the year, the new suite has taken two years to design and build. Yorkshire Television technical supervisor in post-production Andrew Brearley told Broadcast that the suite was "designed to be future-proof. The reliability factor we've become used to with Quantel also influenced our decision. And HD and SD are in the same box, it's not an optional extra and it doesn't cost any extra to buy."
