Brief Provide CGI VFX for five episodes of the second eight-part, family-friendly fantasy sitcom.
How it was done Darkside VFX supervisor Jonathan Alenskas regularly met with the director and production team to discuss the requirements for each episode and help to conceptualise the various effects. Picture post provider Molinare supplied the plates on which the VFX were executed. Most of the work involved extensive clean-up of puppet rigs. Other tasks included combining greenscreen plates with backgrounds, sky replacement, set extension, magical effects and 3D integration. Clean-ups and compositing were handled by Darkside’s Nuke compositing team and 3D elements were created and rendered in Lightwave 3D. In total, Darkside delivered 258 shots.
