The broadcast systems division of British plc The Vitec Group will scale back its presence at IBC in September and instead focus is marketing efforts on locally run events and targeted activities.
The Vitec booth at IBC will highlight only its Anton Bauer, Autoscript, Litepanels and Clear-Com brands while a separate area will showcase its Nucomm microwave video products.
The “Go Local” programme will be an extension of its established partnership programmes with camera manufacturers.
“As an industry leading provider of products and services to the broadcast, entertainment and media industries, we have to react in an agile way to the market’s changing demands. says Joop Janssen, chief executive of the The Vitec Group’s Broadcast Systems Division.
“The Vitec Group’s “Go Local” concept is in response to our customers’ needs for innovative yet cost-effective strategies to ensure they have our tailored, face-to-face support, on the ground, when and where they need it.
In order to meet the differing needs of global customers, the initiative - in collaboration with channel partners - will immediately see greater focus and budget on in-country activities for priority markets.
“In the current environment, a global, one-size-fits-all approach is simply not effective,” continues Janssen. “Our customers want proof that even with our global presence, we’re still able to execute local campaigns which reduce economic and environmental costs while providing hands-on access to our innovative product solutions,” he concludes.
