Apple-based Soho post facility Unit has added a second grading suite as well as a second dubbing mixing room.

The Apple Color grading suite features Tangent panels and a Cinetal Cinemage 10-bit monitor. It will be driven by former Clear Cut Pictures head of grading Simon Astbury, who joined in July as a senior colourist..

The audio suite includes a 24-fader D-Command console running Pro Tools HD version 8. Technology was supplied by Scrub, a division of HHB, while broadcast wiring operation Absolute CAD did the design and installation.

Unit provides services for commercials, promos, television and music video clients and recently won the contract to
provide post facilities for the BBC’s long-running current affairs strand Watchdog.

Unit chief executive Adam Luckwell said: “Our continued expansion and the appointment of Simon Astbury helps to maintain our position as a leading post-production house.”
