ITV drama Broadchurch and Channel 4’s Gogglebox took home two awards apiece at the Broadcast Awards 2014.
Kudos’s whodunit beat the likes of BBC2’s The Fall and BBC1’s Last Tango In Halifax to be named Best Drama Series, and also landed Best International Sales. Production has begun on a US remake for Fox.
Its success also contributed to ITV’s victory as Channel of the Year. ITV performed well across all genres, gained share and demonstrated strong indie relations.
Studio Lambert’s Gogglebox picked up Best Original Programme and Best Popular Factual Programme for taking fixed-rig cameras into the nation’s living rooms.
Broadcast named Twofour Independent Producer of the Year for a diverse slate including Splash! and Educating Yorkshire. The latter, which was a ratings smash, also won Best Documentary Series.
