Chiswick-based TVT has signed a three-year contract with UKTV to provide versioning, compliance and metadata services for all of UKTV’s output.

The size of the deal is estimated to be some 6,000 hours of content per year. The agreement builds on an initial contract for 3,000 hours that was signed in October last year.

Head of marketing Emma Robbins said that the build of an additional facility for UKTV’s compliance team was one of the factors that led to TVT winning the contract.

TVT’s second facility, also in Chiswick, has five Final Cut Pro suites and is capable of ingest, archive, transcode and file delivery.

UKTV’s head of regulatory affairs, Ray Blaney, said: “Compliance is an essential part of what UKTV stands for and the protection of our editorial standards is paramount.

“We chose TVT after an exhaustive process, and the recurring theme for all involved in the selection was that this was a company that we wanted to do business with.”

Robbins said that 10 Red Bee Media staff opted to transfer to TVT under TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) regulations, with a further 15 staff working on the UKTV account.
