The Mac systems that were previously used had struggled to keep up with the workflow. 'Working on HD for a standard format allowed us to render images at two to three times the speed that it would normally take,' said McKenna. Graphics of the questions were delivered on tape, the answers as files, frame by frame. Test the Nation airs on BBC1 on Saturday (22 May).
