Trilogy Communications’ intercom systems are now compliant with the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) new audio over IP standards.

EBU Tech 3347, which was released at the end of last month, aims to increase interoperability between intercom units from different manufacturers.

General manager broadcast at intercom manufacturer Trilogy Communications, Barry Spencer, said the EBU specification will open up the market and give broadcasters the ability to mix and match different vendor’s solutions.

“It will create a shift of power away from proprietary vendors, which will inevitably create a more dynamic and user-focussed marketplace and we here at Trilogy are embracing this shift,” he said.
