London-based film and video archive restoration facility TKone has installed a Digital Vision Golden Eye III film scanner.

TKone is working on preservation projects and future proofing heritage assets from early black and white film from the 1900s through to 35mm colour negative.

TKone managing director Alf Penn said: “With the advent of high-definition broadcasting the technical bar has been raised.

“As a result we offer a film scanning service alongside the existing HD telecine service to meet the demands of clients needing picture scanning at 2K quality.”

TKone recently restored 84 episodes of Poirot (pictured).
