How it was done As well as managing about 400 shots per episode, Milk worked on look development of key environments including underwater, space and storm scenes, and created lighting for the CG Thunderbirds vehicles. To give movement and a realistic feel to the underwater environments, Milk used Nuke Particle System, building layers of crud with different levels of focus. Fogging effects were also added using depth mattes to create haze and density. Heavy filters, including chromatics and distortion effects, helped give the illusion of being underwater. The Milk team was led by VFX supervisor Sara Bennett and 2D supervisor Ellie Sutton.
