Supply location kit and carry out picture post-production on a three-part drama based on the true stories of victims of grooming and sexual abuse in Rochdale.
How it was done
To give the series a drama-doc feel, DoP Matt Gray opted to shoot with the Arri Amira in drama guise using Arri Ultra Prime lenses and uncoated super-speeds. The set-up was devised to be as light as possible to allow for handheld use. For the colour grade, colourist Tony Osborne, using Digital Vision Nucoda, contrasted Gray’s naturalist cinematography using an Arri LUT at around 50% opacity. This helped to avoid a ‘loggy’ look and provided a pleasing rendition of flesh tone that was similar to a film print but without offering too much contrast. Franz Ketterer completed the online.
