Four people are going from the commercials department, including The Mill facilities manager Mark Sherwood, and seven jobs have been cut from the central technical and financial function. Group chief executive Robin Shenfield has also confirmed that the Mill Film team that transferred from Shepperton to Soho earlier this year is among the casualties too ( Broadcast, 24.5.02).
Shenfield denied the current year had been a lean one, describing it as 'just different'. 'This year has primarily been about two large projects - Potter and Bond. Next year looks good. We are just catching our breath a bit after slogging it out for 10 months,' he said.
In a separate development, the group's founder, James Morris, has recently stepped down as executive chairman but will remain a non-executive director. He has been replaced by Eryl Morris, who first joined the board in March last year.
