Brief House the offline and complete full post for the two-part documentary that follows the workers at Kellingley Colliery as it prepares to close.
How it was done Splice head of picture Adam Dolniak graded the programme in Baselight. The director was keen to reflect the reality of mining life and keep tones natural and exactly as he remembered during filming: from the dirty, yellow stained offi ce walls to the stark blue and teal tones underground.
Dolniak found Baselight’s new Denoise feature preview to be essential in eliminating noise in the footage.
Joe Cochrane mixed the fi lms using Pro Tools 12 and Izotope RX5 Advanced. Cochrane used as much of the raw audio of mining machinery and atmosphere as possible.
Tris Lancey completed the online in Avid DS.
Watch it Mondays, 9pm, BBC1
