Brief Post-production on the children’s drama about the experiences of young people and their care workers.

How it was done Using DaVinci Resolve, colourist Trevor Brown applied a ‘warm and safe’ look to the Ashdene Ridge care home, using primary colour correction biased towards amber and gold.

For a scene shot from a bull’s point of view, he removed almost all colour except for red and then refi ned it using vignettes and regionalised defocus.

To turn a ‘fantasy island’ sequence that was shot during the daytime into a night scene, he used custom curves, luminance keys and tracked vignettes.

Dubbing mixers Richard Lee and Dan Piggott completed the audio, combining sync dialogue with ADR recorded on location and adding layers of sound effects.
