IBC 2016: Video test and monitoring systems manufacturer Tektronix has unveiled a field-installable software upgrade for its WFM/WVR 8000 series of waveform monitors and rasterizers.

The upgrade adds support for monitoring High Dynamic Range (HDR) and ITU-R Recommendation BT.2020 Wide Colour Gamut (WCG) formats.

The upgrades, which will be demonstrated at the 2016 IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, are designed to assist camera operators, editors and colourists.

The HDR capability will be released in October.
