The model builds on the features and functionality of the Crane 2
Zhiyun has released the Crane 2S handheld gimbal. It has a greater load and size capacity than the popular Crane 2 and more filming flexibility.
The Crane 2S can handle larger cameras including the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, Panasonic S1H and the Canon EOS 1DX Mark II. It also has a ‘new generation’ algorithm that Zhiyan says “ensures smooth, reliable performance even in time-sensitive tasks.”
It features the ability to switch to vertical shooting without needing to install additional accessories.
The Crane 2S has a new axis lock system that ensures the axis stays still without any swinging, to keep the camera safe on the gimbal while traveling or in storage.
It has a 0.96-inch OLED screen for navigating through the menu system; a built-in focus control wheel and servo follow focus motor for precise control.
It operates on six gimbal modes – pan following; locking; following; full-range POV; Vortex mode; and Go mode. Cinematic effects including panorama, timelapse, motionlapse, and long exposure timelapse are “easy to achieve with the Crane 2S,” says Zhiyun.
The Crane 2S has a run time of 12-hours using three removable 18650 Li-ion batteries.
It will be available at the end of this month for £599.
