Finelight’s rental business will merge under the Version 2 brand with immediate effect
Version 2 Lights has acquired fellow lighting rental company Finelight.
Finelight’s rental business will merge fully under the Version 2 umbrella with immediate effect. Its operations will be consolidated into Version 2’s Reading headquarters over July, with communications channels to stay as they are in the interim.
Simon Perrott, managing director and founder of Finelights, will continue at Version 2, account managing a wide range of shows, including continuing his long standing relationship with LD David Bishop. Perrott started his career at Richard Martin Lighting before forming Finelight over 25 years ago, and was involved with some of the first supply of moving lights to studios, working on shows such as Top of the Pops.
Version 2 managing director Nick Edwards said: “We are excited to integrate Finelight’s inventory into our growing operations. As a preferred supplier to the BBC, Finelight have built up an excellent reputation for quality of service. We’re equally delighted to welcome Simon Perrott to our management team.”
Finelight managing director Simon Perrott added: “We have got to know Nick and the team at Version 2 over recent years whilst collaborating on a number of high profile shows. We have a shared passion for great customer service, and we’re looking forward to building upon this further with the backing of Version 2 and their large equipment inventory.”
