Timeline TV has expanded its Ealing Broadcast Centre, MediaCity facility, and acquired new OB trucks.

The Ealing facility now takes up five floors, with an additional three studios and a host of new production spaces, galleries, edit rooms, dressing rooms, and green rooms added. Two of the studio are large, fully kitted out spaces, while the third is a smaller space for use with virtual sets.

Meanwhile, Timeline North in MediaCity now has a gallery, sound, graphics, and VT, with the facility focused on remote production. It also includes remote surface control panels that are linked to its OB fleet. The additions were originally built for use on the BBC’s FA Cup coverage, but are now available for other productions.

Finally, the company has acquired three new OB trucks after the liquidation of rival firm Arena TV, bringing its total number of 4K trucks up to five. It has also bought an extra VT truck.

Timeline CEO Dan McDonnell and head of operations Dave Harnett spoke to Broadcast Tech about the expansion for the Tech Talks podcast recently. You can listen below for their thoughts on the expansion, as well as the changing shape of live production.
