Company confirms cancellation caused by Covid-19 crisis
Panasonic has become the highest profile company so far to announce it will not have a presence at this year’s IBC.
It puts further pressure on IBC 2020 – the annual trade show, held in Amsterdam every September – which has seen other brands including Arvato Systems and Vidispine, Object Matrix, Plura, Cantemo and iconik already pull out.
Panasonic is withdrawing from IBC 2020 and instead running “online initiatives” including the Technology Experience Zone.
André Meterian, director of the professional video systems business unit for EMEA, said: “It has been a very difficult decision. As much as we look forward each year to welcoming visitors at this important industry event, we must prioritise the well-being of our staff, partners and attendees. In the meantime, we will focus on creating additional activities and work with partners and industry leaders to continuously develop new content for our Technology Experience Zone, including live streaming, webinars, video podcasts and training.”
