Details revealed of 4K training studio
The National Film and Television School (NFTS) has opened a 4K Digital Content Training Studio in Beaconsfield.
The 4K studio space includes six of Sony’s HDC-4300 system cameras, a Sony XVS-7000 switcher and a PWS-4500 live server system. All are capable of supporting 4K, HDR and IP workflows.
The 4K Digital Content Training Studio aims to mirror the equipment used by live production companies, outside of the educational environment, to enable students to gain experience of widely used production kit.
“Educating the next generation of production professionals means ensuring they have the tools they’ll encounter in full-time employment, and 4K has become an absolute necessity for this.”
The courses that utilise the NFTS’s 4K Digital Content Training Studio include the Directing and Producing Television Entertainment MA; Cameras, Sound and Vision Mixing Diploma; and Production Technology MA.
Nik Powell, Director at NFTS, said: “Educating and inspiring the next generation of production professionals means ensuring they have access to the tools they’ll encounter when they enter the world of full-time employment, and 4K has become an absolute necessity for this.”
“We chose Sony because their solutions are the most in-use in the live production market.”
