Renovated audio mixing suites will have Dolby Atmos facilities
LipSync Post is investing £650K in upgrading and renovating its two main audio mixing theatres, adding Dolby Atmos facilities and integrating different control surfaces.
The rooms include a hybrid Frozen Fish Design mixing console, which integrates AMS Neve DFC 3D and Avid Pro Tools S6 control surfaces.
The refresh of its audio suites enables the sound department to respond faster to recuts and edits, says Lipsync.
Rob Hughes, head of sound at LipSync, said: “We wanted a system that would be powerful and flexible in integrating new technologies like Dolby Atmos into our workflow. In choosing a hybrid console from Frozen Fish Design we’ve harnessed the absolute best cutting-edge technology.”
LipSync has “completely redesigned” Studio 2 to refit for Dolby Atmos, “ensuring the space can handle the hugely complex mixes modern productions require.” The facility’s Theatre 1 will be upgraded in the summer.
LipSync’s recent TV credits include Living the Dream, Harlots and Dancing on the Edge, for which it won a BAFTA Craft award.
