Former CEO to take advisory role as Imagine anounces new CEO
Imagine Communications has made Tom Cotney its CEO, replacing Charlie Vogt, who is becoming a senior advisor at Imagine’s parent company The Gores Group. In his new role, Vogt will continue to “drive M&A and business development activities at Imagine”, working with Cotney to “continue the momentum and growth at Imagine Communications.”
“I want to personally thank Charlie for his leadership in placing Imagine’s technology at the forefront of the industry,” said Alec Gores, founder, chairman and CEO of The Gores Group. “Sharing our vision of where the industry is heading, Tom is uniquely qualified to build on this momentum.”
Cotney, who will also join the board of directors of Imagine, has spent the majority of his career in the telecommunications and mobile technology industries and was the general manager of the communications sector at IBM Global Services.
“Imagine Communications couldn’t be better positioned to take market-share across the ad management, playout, networking and distribution markets, particularly as we continue to guide the industry transition to IP and the cloud,” believes Vogt.
