Tech firm sets up virtual studio to produce animation over three days to demonstrate cloud capabilities
Google has demonstrated how its cloud services can be used by content creators by running a virtual VFX studio in the cloud for a three day animation project.
Google worked with a team of animators to animate a short over the course of three days at Google Cloud Next.
The animated short can be seen here.
Artists connected to virtual workstations through a zero client and remote artists were able to remotely collaborate using Google Meet.
Partners like BeBop Technology provided a managed workstation to all artists.
Modelling and animation was completed on virtual workstations, while Google Cloud rendered all 1,455 final frames using Zync Render a Renderfarm-as-a-Service running on GCP.
In June, Google Cloud announced a variety of solutions aimed at helping content creators.
