Company incorporates 6.5K resolution capability
Digital Orchard has upgraded its UK facility to include 6.5K resolution capability.
The 26-acre facility outside Chalfont St Giles, 10 minutes from Leavesden and 15 minutes from Pinewood, has added the option to its custom-designed & manufactured ScanStation.
The scanner can handle 16, 35 & 65mm film at speeds of up to 60fps, producing optically pin-registered scans. It also features a warped film gate & sprocketless film transport, with stability and shadow detail through its multi-flash scanning capability.
Elsewhere, the company has extended its shared services partnership with Kodak to install a Lasergraphics ScanStation 6.5K – a high-end motion picture film scanner - at Kodak Film Lab Atlanta, USA. It has also now scanned, digitised & delivered over 5 million feet of film.
Callum Just, founder & group director at Digital Orchard, said: “We’ve always been committed to ensuring that our technological solutions offer filmmakers the very best in quality and service & our film scanning team are renowned for this. I’m thrilled to celebrate the team’s achievement in reaching the 5 million feet milestone. By continuing to invest in our UK capability while extending our partnership with Kodak, I look forward to supporting more and more creative projects both here and in Atlanta.”
