Company had to prove high standards of social & environmental performance, transparency and accountability to achieve B Corp status
Workflow and colour-management company Digital Orchard Group has been certified as a B Corp.
Verified by non-profit organisation B Lab, certification involves over 170 metrics across five core ‘Impact Areas’ – workers, community, customers, environment & governance. A company has to prove high standards of social & environmental performance, transparency and accountability to successfully gain the status.
5,893 companies from 85 countries currently have B Corp status, with 158 industries represented. Digital Orchard, which handles film processing, scanning, picture post and deliverables, joins the likes of visual content studio Coffee & TV, which was awarded B Corp status last year.
Digital Orchard started the accreditation process in early 2021, with the certification coming through at the end of August 2022.
Callum Just, founder & Digital Orchard Group director, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that the Digital Orchard team have delivered in reshaping our business towards B Lab’s world leading standards. It is very rewarding to reflect through this certification the values & vision we have always upheld; to consider the impact of our business and to strive to do right by our people, our partners and our planet.”
Sam Margaritis, Digital Orchard managing director, added: “B Corp certification is a world-leading standard to have achieved and we’re thrilled to be among a very small number of UK post production facilities to have met these criteria. We’re also aware the certification is only the first step in what will be a continuous journey of improvement and we relish the challenges ahead that this brings.”
