Small, lightweight Ninja V revealed at NAB 2018
Melbourne firm Atomos has launched a compact 5.2 inch version of its Apple Pro Res recorder line, squeezing HDR daylight viewing into a smaller box.
The firm claims that the Ninja V has taken many of the advanced features its other monitor/recorders range, such as the Shogun Inferno, and condensed it into a compact recorder.
Weighing in at just over 11oz (320g) the aluminium cased- unit is designed for mirrorless cameras, DSLRs and gaming and its 1000nits of output means that it is viewable outdoors.
Priced at $695 (£490) Atomos chief executive Jeromy Young described the unit as a “no brainer”. He added: “The Ninja V is the most versatile outdoor monitor and portable ProRes recorder ever. We can’t wait to see how it unlocks creativity for our users.”
