Atomos invests in Mavis Broadcast

Atomos has made a “multi-million dollar” investment in Mavis Broadcast. 

The pair have worked together since the creation of Atomos Cloud Studio, which launched earlier this year and is powered by Mavis tech. Mavis has enabled new Atomos workflows such as Adobe Camera to Cloud (powered by Frame.io), and will soon include new live production services.

This investment gives Mavis users access to hardware that will feed content into the cloud while simultaneously offering dual record, talkback, tally, remote configuration and frame synchronisation directly into the Mavis platform.

Atomos has recently been in the headlines due to allegations of discrimination and “illegal conduct” from its former CEO Estell McGechie. McGechie has filed a legal complaint to this end, which you can read about here, after leaving the company in April 2022 despite only becoming CEO in September 2021.
