StormHD has added a second Avid DS HD suite and extra storage, and appointed a new editor as it looks to ramp up its Covent Garden-based facility for more high-end finishing work and tapeless projects.
The second DS suite includes stereo 3D monitoring and will work alongside an existing DS suite and three Final Cut Pro and Avid Symphony suites.
At the same time, the company’s Avid Unity storage has been increased to 32 terabytes and editor Daniel Mellow has joined as senior editor.
The former freelancer has credits that include The X Factor (pictured), The Sunday Night Project and Freak Like Me.
StormHD editor, colourist and founder Paul Ingvarsson said: “We’ve made a significant investment in the best facilities we can provide and having Dan on board gives us huge confidence in making this a success.
“The storage expansion will make tapeless projects easier as there will be no need for lengthy conversions to offline formats before an edit.”
